Hair Care with Egg And Olive Oil
IIn the past months, I’ve really given up on everything about my hair. So I often shaved my hair and came to the brim of making a fresh start to everything. But when one of my friends I loved said: “Your hair looks only thirsty.” I had a slight illumination
In the end, I wanted to make a homemade hair-mask “-do-it-yourself” to apply to my hair and see the results. in one of those moments when my despair was the most intense.
Egg yolks have been used in home-made hair masks to make the hair silky and healthy since long times; these substances have protein and lecithin. Olive oil is also the second ingredient for me, which is the foundation of the mask with its moisturizing and softening properties.
All I have to do is add a few drops of water to mix the egg yolk with a tablespoon of olive oil and to make it easier to apply to the hair. To avoid that terrible smell (I hate the odor of the raw egg), I applied the mixture to the ends of my hair, so if you want to apply to your hair roots, or if you have long hair, you can double your measurements.
I applied the mixture to my hair, then I collected my hair by making a random bun, I wrapped it by a shower cap and I kept my hair in it for a few hours while I was watching a drama I like.
When I entered the shower, I washed my hair as usual. I shampooed three times to completely purify the egg and its smell. I then made my hair dry on their own then I touched my hair by my fingers, I was REALLY VERY EXCITED! My hair has not been so saturated and silky for months. FOR MONTHS I AM SAYING!
I am really confused by this easy, effortless, cheap hair mask. Of course in positive.
I have practiced this mask several times and I know that I will never have to buy again the ready-made hair masks, which are expensive and complete fiasco.
Below I share the recipe of the mask in a more concise way.
Hair mask recipe prepared with olive oil and egg
What will you need?
• 1-2 eggs
• 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
• Plastic shower cap
• Hair cream
1. Separate the yolk and the white of the eggs. If you have long and thick hair, you may have to use two egg yolks. Put the egg yolk and the white separately in containers.
2. Add 1 tablespoon olive oil for each egg yolk. Mix olive oil and egg yolk with a spoon.
3. Apply the mixture equally to your dry hair. Then put on a shower cap and make sure the mixture remains in your hair for at least 1 hour.
4. Rinse your hair with warm water. Avoid using hot water because the heat can cook the egg in your hair. Finally, wash your hair with the shampoo and conditioner you always use.
Suggestion: Adding a small amount of honey to the hair mask, especially if you have hair that is overly dry or exposed to the sun, will restore your hair to moisture. Honey, as you know, is a sticky substance and you may need to do extra washing.
How often should you apply it? : Masking your hair once or twice a month will be very effective. The mask we made is pretty strong!
The egg yolk, rich in proteins, vitamins, and super-nutritional fatty acids, not only makes your hair softer, shiny and healthy but also helps them to grow faster. A, D and E vitamins richness prevents hair loss and thickens weakening hair strands. Vitamin D also treats broken hair ends in itself and allows hair to grow faster. Olive oil is also an ideal choice, especially for dry and worn hair, with strengthening and softening properties. Also, protect the hair coloring without disturbing the structure of the hair.
